Augusta, Maine - The Colby College Men's Tennis team fell 3-6 to MIT at KVTA in Augusta on Sunday afternoon. Colby came into this matchup ranked #22 in the country and MIT ranked #24.
In doubles, senior captain
Sam Henry and junior captain
Jake Cohen found a point for the mules at court 1, following a loss on court 2 and 3. Cohen and Henry won 8-4, having been down 3-4 early in the match. At court 3, first year
Sandeep Alapati and sophomore
Aidan Kwong lead most of the match before MIT pulled away to win off a 7-6 deuce point. The Mules then trailed 1-2 after doubles.
In singles, Cohen fought hard, from behind to take a 7-5 first set and 6-1 second. Another highlight of the day includes first year
Paul Dandler playing some fantastic tennis to defeat his MIT opponent 7-5 4-6 6-3. Kwong also had a very tight battle, losing the first set 4-6 and his second set 6-7 (3) in a tiebreaker.Â
Colby is back in action Monday, March 25th against Occidental College to kick off the California spring break trip.
