Waterville, Maine - The Colby Women's Lacrosse team came out on top against Roger Williams University, defeating the Hawks 15-9 at home. The Mules improve to an overall record of 4-1 on the season.
The first quarter saw action right from the beginning with Roger Williams scoring the first goal of the game and Colby scoring less than a minute later. The Mules pulled ahead after that, securing a comfortable 5-2 lead at the end of the first quarter. Colby continued this momentum into the second quarter, keeping their lead at 8-4 to round out the first half. The Mules continued their impressive offensive presence, scoring twice within a minute in the third quarter, maintaining a lead at 11-6 heading into the fourth quarter. Colby kept the lead throughout the remainder of the game, securing the win at a final score of 15-9.Â
The Mules offensive domination was led by
Ally Franz with a whopping five goals scored, helped by
Julia Jardina who had two goals and two assists.
Kat Munter had an impressive defensive showing with three caused turnovers, as did
Emily Darby with two of her own.
Colby will take on Hamilton College on the road Saturday, March 23, at noon.
