Waterville, Maine - The eighth preseason ranked Colby Women's Lacrosse team will take on the Wesleyan Cardinals Saturday for their first game of the season in a conference showdown. The Mules will look to push their win streak against the Cardinals to four with their last matchup being a close 13-12 Colby victory here on Mayflower Hill in 2023.
Last year the Mules finished with a strong 14-6 overall record advancing to the NESCAC Semifinals and NCAA Quarterfinals falling to the top DIII team in the nation Middlebury in both tournaments. Despite losing five seniors to graduation, Colby has brought in seven first-years and will be led by a new group of seniors this year.

Cami McDonald,
Ali Gill,
Tori Congdon,
Liz DeMarino and
Sarah Hearns. The Mules return an impressive five of their top eight point scorers from a season ago in Franz '24 (39 goals, nine assists),
Paige Saudek '26 (35 goals, two assists),
Julia Jardina '25 (24 goals, nine assists) who also had 112 draw controls, McDonald '24 (17 goals, four assists) and
Ainsley Dion '25 (15 goals, five assists). Hearns '24 returns to the team who played the majority of the time in the net last season totaling 109 saves while starting in all 20 games.
Colby will be led once again by Head Coach
Karen Henning in her 17th season with the Mules. Henning will be assisted by
Ari Cambio who returns for her second season as well as
Hallie Schwartzman a 2022 Colby graduate and former Colby Women's Lacrosse student-athlete in her first year as an assistant coach.
