Hartford, Conn. - Their successful season led the Colby College Women's Basketball team to the NESCAC Quarterfinals today, which unfortunately served as their final game of the season. The Mules fell short to Trinity College, with a final score of 51-35. This brings them to a total of 12 wins and 12 losses this season and 4-6 in the conference. The Bantams now stand at a season record of 19-6 and 8-2 in the NESCAC.
The first quarter started off strong, with the Bantams only scraping by with a 2-point lead. The second quarter was a bit more competitive, with the teams entering halftime with a score of 22-16. The second half continued to pose a challenge, but the Mules held strong and were still able to display a stellar performance. In the end, this was a very competitive game, but Trinity was able to secure the victory.
Kate Olenik really took charge of today's game, securing a total of 12 points for her team. Additionally, she had two steals and three rebounds, all of which were defensive.
Amelia Hanscom also played incredibly well, netting six points total with one steal and four defensive rebounds.
Ana Von Rumohr hit a season high today with a whopping six rebounds, three which were offensive and three that were defensive.
Today's match against Trinity wrapped up another great season for the Mules, but they will continue working hard at practice in preparation for next season.
