Waterville, ME - On senior night, Colby tied 4-4 in an overtime game against Tufts. Following this matchup, Tufts has a record of 12-9-3 (9-7-2 in conference) while the Mules are 9-11-4 (5-9-4 in conference). All time, the Mules lead the Jumbos in wins, 17-13-5.
In the first period, Tufts took a 2-0 lead with goals both in the 19th minute. At 12 minutes into the second period junior
Jake MacDonald scored on an assist from senior
Michael McEachern and
sophomore Tyler Crist, before a responding Tufts goal. In the last few minutes of the second, senior
Griffin Grise and Crist both found the back of the net to tie the game 3-3. Mid way through the third period, MacDonald found a goal once again, before a Tufts response to send the 4-4 game into overtime. In overtime, we saw a scoreless 5 minute period.
Men's Ice Hockey is back in action as the number 8 seed at the NESCAC tournament starting on Sunday, February 24th.
