Daytona Beach, Fla. - In game one of their winter break trip in sunny Florida, the Colby Women's Basketball team grabbed a dominate 30-point win over the Foresters. This improves the Mules record to 3-5 on the season as Lake Forest drops to 2-7.
Colby got off to a hot start with a 12-0 run in the first five minutes of play before ending the first quater with a 13-point 21-8 advantage. In the second,
Kate Olenik added eight more points to the stat sheet for 18 total points in the half to help escort the Mules to a sizable 41-19 lead. The second half played out the same with Colby continuing their big lead to end the game with a 69-39 final score.
Olenik, the 2023-24 NESCAC Rookie of the Year, was lights out setting a new career-high with 29 points in the contest.
Caroline Hartley also set a career-high with 10 points on top of seven rebounds in the win as
Lydia Mordarski also contributed 10 points.
Ana Von Rumohr came up just shy of a double-double securing eight points and 10 rebounds to go along with four steals.Â
Colby Women's Basketball will be right back in action tomorrow for their second game of the Florida Sunshine Shootout against #4 Scranton.Â
