Box Score St. Louis, Mo. - The Mules' magical season ended on Saturday as they fell to top-ranked Washington University. Colby broke multiple records en route to a NESCAC Runner-up finish and a Sweet-16 appearance.
Colby played the Bears tight throughout the match, with goalie
MK Marshall making several critical saves. But in the 83rd minute, the Wash U attack broke through and grabbed what would be the game-winner.
The Mules finished the regular season in sixth place, making their first appearance in the NESCAC tournament since 2018 and only their second since 2014. Colby went on a run in the tournament, upsetting third-ranked Middlebury before handing Wesleyan their first loss of the season. They could only be stopped by Amherst in penalty kicks.
Colby's end-of-season run earned them an at-large bid in the NCAA tournament, where they defeated Claremont Mckenna-Scripps and third-ranked MIT. With 13 wins on the season, the team achieved its winningest season in program history.
The Mules graduate only three seniors and will look to build on the season with a very strong and young team.
