Clinton, N.Y. - The Colby Women's Soccer team grabbed a critical NESCAC victory against Hamilton on Saturday to keep pace in the conference standings. The Mules made it look easy in a 4-0 victory on the road.
Colby grabbed their first goal in the 32nd minute when
Abigail Jarvi broke through the defense. Coming out of the halftime break, it was all Mules as Hamilton conceded an own goal early on, and Colby scored two more.
Madison Genser's goal in the 50th minute was her 5th of the season.
Avery Barton scored in the 57th minute for her first goal of the year.
MK Marshall played 82 minutes to grab another win, her fourth clean sheet of the season. Twenty-six different Mules saw playing time in the contest, showing the depth and youth of the talented team. With the win, Colby moves to sixth in the NESCAC, just one point behind Tufts and Wesleyan.
Colby will be off the rest of the weekend before returning to action on Tuesday night against Husson. A win would assure a perfect record in non-conference play for the fifth consecutive year. Next weekend, they will return to NESCAC play by traveling to Middlebury, which currently sits second in the NESCAC standings and has not lost to the Mules since 2006.
