Soccer Takes Care of Husson

Waterville, Maine—As fall descended on Maine Tuesday night, the Colby Women's Soccer Team squared off against Husson in their final non-conference matchup of the season. The Mules made light work of the Eagles in a 6-0 contest, moving to 8-3 on the season and a perfect 5-0 in non-conference play.

Colby started the scoring early in the 4th minute when Abigail Jarvi got the feed from Sophie DiGrande outside the 18-yard box and put it over the keeper's head. Colby added two more before halftime from Catherine Watrous and Jadyn Liebman to go into the break up 3-0.

But the Mules weren't done yet, and just two minutes into the second half, Claire Walsh scored on a beautiful ball from Mia Sullivan. Watrous would grab another goal in the 65th minute for a team-leading seven goals on the season. After a bad tackle in the box from Husson, Elo Luczkow converted a penalty kick to make the score 6-0.

Talia Thompson started in goal for Colby, her second start of the season, and proved more than capable. She made two fantastic stops in the effort as Colby secured its sixth shutout of the season.

Colby has now won 13 straight against Husson, dating back to 2011. They will be back in action next weekend against Middlebury for a NESCAC showdown.
