Mules Barely Fall to Hamilton

Clinton, New York – In their last NESCAC conference game before a brief break against RPI, Colby faced Hamilton in a very tight affair. After a scoreless first half prompting three saves from Brendan McCarthy and finding great chances offensively, ultimately the Mules fell 2-1. This loss is Colby's fourth this season by one goal showing their ability to stay in games regardless of the opposition. Unfortunately, the loss does take the Mules to 3-6 overall and 1-6 in NESCAC conference play.

The game was evenly split as both teams found themselves in opportune areas early on. Charlie Scott and Andy Uku had the first chances of the game but both were blocked before they could reach the goal. The Mules headed into the half all square but conceded a minute after the restart. However, their momentum and attitude didn't drop, instead spurred them on and pulled one back ten minutes later. Mario Simoes converted a penalty to take his tally to four goals on the season. Colby continued to put pressure on the Colonials goalie as wing-back Oliver Daboo had three shots–testing the keeper once. Hamilton took the lead again but the Mules couldn't complete the comeback.

Colby is in action again tomorrow against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in a non-conference matchup.
