Waterville, Maine - The Colby College Field Hockey team played Trinity College on Saturday afternoon. Through a back and forth game, the Mules came out on top 5-4 after 60 minutes. Colby now sits 3-5 in the NESCAC conference.
The Bantams started off the scoring of the game with a goal four minutes into the first quarter. The Mules fought back to find two goals in the second quarter,
Molly Mitchell and
Catherine McNulty with one each. Trinity was able to tie the game at 2-2 before the end of the half. Both teams came out fighting in the second half, but Trinity found the back of the net first, only five minutes into the third quarter.
Lily Harrington then found the back of the net just two minutes after, tying the game at 3 a piece. The Bantams then took the lead in the fourth quarter, making it a 4-3 game with nine minutes to play. Harrington found her second of the game to tie it with just under four minutes remaining. The Mules then earned a penalty corner with 90 seconds to play in the tie game, and Bridget Evertt found her 6th goal of the season, securing the 5-4 win for Colby in regular time.
Leah Anderson and
Harri Baker played in net for the Mules and tallied five and four saves, respectively.Â
Colby is back in action at home on Sunday at 1pm.
