Waterville, Maine - The Colby College Women's Ice Hockey team faced Hamilton College again at home Saturday afternoon. The Mules fell to the Continentals 3-2 in overtime, dropping their record to 8-2-0 overall and 2-2-0 in conference.
After a scoreless first period the Continentals put the first goal on the board in the seventh minute of the second. Colby's
Sophie Melsness answered about two minutes later assisted by
Meg Rittenhouse and
Georgia Pettygrove to tie the game at 1. Hamilton was able to score one more goal before the end of the period, sending them into the second intermission with the lead. The Mules took the third period with
Meg Rittenhouse scoring early in the period assisted by
Alex Thomas and held off the visitors in a 2-2 tie through regulation. 27 seconds into the deciding overtime period Hamilton scored, taking the game 3-2.
The Mules take the road to take on Middlebury next weekend.
