Game Recap: Men's Basketball | | Aidan Simmonds

Camels Send Mules Home Empty-Handed

New London, Connecticut - In a midday matchup Sunday the Colby Men's Basketball team fell to Connecticut College 53-81. This loss takes Colby to 9-10 on the season and 1-5 in NESCAC conference play.

The scoreline in the first half didn't reflect Colby's start to the game. Up until the 11th minute, the Mules were in the game, only falling behind by no more than four. Max Poulton had two three-pointers early to keep the score tight. However, the Camels quickly found their rhythm and started to pull away leading to a 28-42 halftime score.

Coming out of the break the Mules went toe to toe with Conn. College on rebounds, almost matching the Camels' 20 with 17 of their own.  Despite the scoring being evenly distributed in the half, the Mules found themselves to far behind from their first half deficit taking a 81-53 loss. Poulton led the scoring with 16 points while Marcos Montiel wasn't far behind with 13.

The Mules will look to bounce back with their two upcoming home games. This Friday Colby hosts Tufts and has a quick turnaround to host Bates the following day.
