Women's Ice Hockey Defeated by Trinity

Hartford, Connecticut - The Colby College Women's Ice Hockey team rematched NESCAC opponent Trinity College on Saturday afternoon. Colby lost 3-1 to Trinity, falling to 12-5-1 overall and 4-5-1 in NESCAC play.

The first period saw a strong effort from the Bantams, but Grace Caligiuri made 9 saves to shut them out in the first 20 minutes. All four of the game's goals came in an action-packed second period. Trinity scored two goals in the first five minutes of the period. The two teams battled and then Meg Rittenhouse cut the Bantams' lead in half with her 14th goal of the season, assisted by Sophie Melsness. Trinity added another to their tally at the end of the period, making it 3-1. The third period saw 9 shots from Colby, but none of them were able to make it past Trinity's goaltender. After a hard fought period, the Mules fell 3-1.

The Mules will travel to Amherst College next weekend to take on the reigning NESCAC champions.
