Boston, Massachusetts - The Colby College Women's Ice Hockey team traveled to Boston on Tuesday evening to face the Suffolk University Rams. The Mules defeated the Rams 8-0 in the non-conference matchup, improving their overall record to 9-3-1.
Colby got an early start when
Courtney Schumacher scored a minute and a half into the game. The rest of the period remained scoreless, but the Mules opened up the lead with four more goals in the second period. These goals were scored by
Molly Lefebvre,
Mattie Tremper,
Beth Sinson, and
Sophia Kennedy. The third period brought an additional three goals for the Mules scored by
Maria Pierce,
Audrey Shirer, and a powerplay goal by
Meg Rittenhouse. The Mules showcased a true team win tonight featuring eight different goal scorers, with
Mattie Tremper's goal being her first of the season.
Paige Bolyard was in net for the Mules and earned her first shutout of the season.
The Mules are back in action for a NESCAC matchup at home on Friday evening.
