Middlebury, Vt. - For their first NESCAC event of the new year, the Colby Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving teams took on Middlebury with the women winning 161-138 as well as the Men 155.5-143.5.
On the women's side,
Sarah Michael,
Kellen Mottl,
Gabriella Landau, and
Lily Moy won the 200 Medley Relay. In the 200 Freestyle Relay,
Emma Cheung,
Lily Moy,
Alex Mayo, and
Gabriella Landau brought the speed and won. Tahila Crowley took first place in the 50 Backstroke, while
Sarah Michael won the 100 Backstroke. Mottl snagged more first places in the following events: 50 and 100 Breaststroke, and the 100 IM. Moy also had multiple wins today and added the 50 and 100 Freestyle to her collection. On the women's diving side,
Avery Rappaport took first in the One Meter Dive, while
Eleanor McGrath won the Three Meter Dive. What a successful day!
On the Men's side of things,
Brandon Xiong,
Alexander MacLennan,
Neil Mortimer, and
Allen Zhu brought the heat to win the 200 Medley Relay. Xiong,
Ethan Chang, Mortimer, and Zhu took first in the 200 Freestyle Relay. More wins for Xiong include the 50 and 100 Backstroke, and more wins for Mortimer include the 50 and 100 Butterfly.
Carson Rehkopf took first in the 100 Freestyle, and MacLennon had his second win of the day in the 100 IM. On the diving side,
Ivan Knoepflmacher won the One Meter Dive.
Colby proved dominant today and hope to carry that success over to their next competition on January 15th on Mayflower Hill against Conn. College.
