Middlebury, Vermont - The Colby College Women's Ice Hockey team closed out their series against Middlebury on the road this afternoon. The Mules fell to the Panthers 2-0, dropping their record to 8-3-1 overall and 2-3-1 in conference.
The Mules came out strong in the first period with 13 shots on goal to Middlebury's 7, but neither team was able to score in the first 20 minutes of play. Colby faced more adversity in the second period, allowing the Panthers two goals to lead 2-0. The Mules came to play in the third, challenging Middlebury's goaltender with 16 shots on goal, but unfortunately she was able to keep her shutout and earn her team a 2-0 win. Colby goaltender
Grace Caligiuri made 30 saves on 32 shots faced and
Beth Sinson and
Audrey Shirer each had 5 shots on goal for Colby.
The Mules will take the road again on Tuesday against Suffolk University.
