Standish, Maine - The Colby College Volleyball team played their first match of the season versus Saint Joseph's College of Maine Wednesday night resulting in a 3-0 sweep for the Mules (29-27, 25-22, 25-16). This puts Colby at 1-0 to start the 2023 schedule as the Monks fall to 1-3.
After a long and competitive first set where the Mules found themselves down 21-16 at one point, Colby was able to rally back after a well timed timeout to take it 29-27. From there, the Mules kept their rhythm and outmatched Saint Joseph's in the second and third set taking both at the 25 point mark.
Hannah Wyllie came ready to play leading the team with nine kills followed by
LJ Grant with six while
Sydney Bopp and
Brady Moseley added four apiece.
Allison Rodriguez contributed 19 assists while
Reanna Yadao finished with 21 digs.
This weekend, Colby will head to the University of Chicago for three matches starting Friday at 2:30pm versus Stevens.
