Box Score Middletown, Conn. - The Colby Women's Tennis team continued their 2023-24 fall season over the weekend at the ITA Regional Tournament hosted by Wesleyan University. This tournament featured some of the best players from across the northeast region. Colby was well-represented with 3 players in the A singles draw, 4 players in the B singles draw, and 3 doubles teams in the round of 64 doubles flight.
First year
Jade Finestone led the way for the Mules with convincing wins over Brandeis and Middlebury opponents in the B singles flight. Finestone was unfortunately not able to continue her campaign following weather delays over the weekend. Senior Captain
Sam Riordan came into the tournament as a five seed, taking down Babson's Chaniel Soffer, 6-3, 7-5 in the first round. Riordan then fell to Middlebury's Anna Lardner with a close score of 2-6, 7-6(5), 0-1(8).
In doubles play, senior captain Syndey Landau paired up with Riordan, losing a nail biter to Middlebury opponents 7-8(4). Sophomore

Michaela Landry, losing a close match 6-8 to a team from Tufts.
Riordan commented on the weekend, saying, "Getting to be with everyone in the hotel and bonding was so much fun- and it was awesome to be back on the court! Definitely savoring every moment in my senior year- happy to be here!"
The Mules will return to action on Sunday October 1st for their first dual team match, at home against Endicott College.
