Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Mules Continue Winning Streak

Hartford, Conn. — Colby Men's Soccer shuts out Trinity College to secure a 2-0 win. The Mules move into their next game with a 3-0-1 season record and make the Bantam's record drop to 1-1-1. 

Colby's Brendan McCarthy started and stayed in the net throughout today's game. McCarthy faced his first shot from Trinity in the 10th minute which hit the crossbar. A couple of minutes later, Myles Culley answered back with a shot on Trinity's net that was saved by their goalkeeper. In the 20th minute of the game, Colby's first-year Charlie Scott scored his first goal of his collegiate career, earning a 1-0 lead for the Mules (video below). Scott was assisted by Myles Culley. Colby ended the first half with 6 shots and 4 shots on goal, continuing to challenge the Bantam's defense. 

Aggressive play continued in the second half with a shot by Trinity in the first minute of the half which was saved by McCarthy. In the 62nd minute, Colby's Arkam Traore scored a goal assisted by Oliver Daboo securing a bigger lead for the Mules and making the score 2-0 (video below). The Bantams attempted four more shots on goal but couldn't come back from the Mule's 2-0 lead. 

The Mules are on the road again this weekend. Colby will head to Williamstown, Massachusetts to play Williams College on Saturday, September 23rd at 11:00 a.m.
