Waterville, MAINE- Colby returned home from their trip to Middlebury to take on crosstown rivals Thomas College. The Mules dominated the game from the get-go, leading 17-0 at halftime and winning 26-0. The win takes Colby to 3-9 and the Terriers to 3-6.
The Mules got off to a strong start as they led 13-0 at the end of the first quarter and put up four more in the second.
Henry Popko and
Max Solmssen led Colby's first half, scoring three goals a piece.
Nick Hassan and
Chris Maichin followed up with two goals each. Seven others had a goal. Other statistical highlights included Hassan posting a career-high five assists in the first quarter.
The second half saw the Mules allow everyone to get a run out to give the younger players experience.
Isaac Kante and
Jack Hansen each scored two goals to lead the second-half scoring. The two goals gave Hansen his first career hat trick. In addition,
Cade Nagahama,
Nick Sokolosky,
Ben Reynolds,
Cormac Wright, and
Carson Byrd had goals.
Justin Turley led the team in ground balls with eight.
Miles Tonkel had six, while Byrd had five.
Colby returns to the road when they face off against Trinity on April 22nd at 6:30pm.
