San Antonio, TX - Colby Women's Tennis fell in a tight match against 26th ranked Johns Hopkins.

The Mules found themselves down 2 matches to 1 after doubles. Junior captains Sam Riordan and Sydney Landau won 8-5 at the number 1 spot. Freshmen Maddie Omicioli and Bella Suk fell 8-4 at line 2. Senior captain Caleigh McClain and freshman Amelie Gal played an extremely close match at line 3, but ultimately lost 8-7(5).

In the singles, the Mules were able to win 2 out of 6 matches. At the 4 spot, freshman Ellie Gershaw took a 7-5, 6-2 over Anjali Devireddy of Hopkins. At the top spot, Riordan won 6-4, 6-4 over Jay Xiao of Hopkins. 

The women play Southwestern University on Thursday, March 23rd.
