Clinton, N.Y. - The Colby Men's Ice Hockey team came back from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Hamilton College 3-2 Saturday afternoon in overtime during the quarterfinals of the NESCAC Men's Hockey Championship. Colby improves to 13-10-2 and advances to face seventh seeded Bowdoin College in the semifinal round of the conference tournament next weekend. Â

In the first period, the Mules found themselves fighting against the Continentals, going down 1-0 twelve minutes into the game. Outshot in the first frame 14-6, Colby looked to the second period to improve their play. Hamilton doubled their lead just before eight minutes into the second, but the Mules would find an answer. Tyler Crist pulled Colby within one thirteen minutes into the period, with assists being credited to
Jake MacDonald and
Jack Sullivan. Three minutes later,
Alex Bourhas netted the equalizer on the power play with help from
Ryan Doolin and
Max O'Brien. In the final twenty minutes of regulation, both teams were held scoreless, with
Andy Beran making several key saves in the final minutes of play.
Headed to overtime,
Dan Juzych scored the game-winner for Colby,
Carter Breitenfeldt and
Ryan Doolin tallying assists. Beran made 33 saves on the day for the Mules.

Colby's will travel to Amherst, the top remaining seed, for the remainder of the tournament, facing Bowdoin Saturday for the third time this season. Colby was won both matchups this season. Game time is to be determined. Â
