Waterville, Maine- Colby College Women's Ice Hockey competed against the Connecticut College Camels in the final game of the regular season, defeating the Camels 2-1 to end the season on a five-game winning season before entering the playoffs. The Mules end the season at 16-6-0 overall and 10-6-0 in NESCAC conference competition.
Colby began by honoring seniors:
Madi Aumann,
Bri Michaud-Nolan,
Jillian Mazzocca,
Stephanie Lane,
Madi Brown,
McKinley Karpa, and
Tate Senden who have made significant contributions to the team across their respective Colby careers. In the first period,
Audrey Shirer found the top corner of the net to give Colby the 1-0 lead only three minutes into the first period. With eleven minutes left the Camels scored a goal to tie the game at 1-1. Sophomore
Paige Bolyard at goal displayed her season-long defensive prowess with crucial stops in the second period.  A quickly moving second period remained deadlocked with back-and-forth action by both teams. Only sixteen seconds into the third period,
Meg Rittenhouse scored the game-winning goal continuing her player of the year campaign. Near the end of the period,
Paige Bolyard made a huge stop to secure the victory for the Mules.Â
Next Saturday, February 25th, Colby College Women's Ice Hockey will compete in the quarterfinals of the NESCAC Women's Ice Hockey Championship.
