Waterville, Maine - The Colby College Women's Ice Hockey team hosted the Polar Bears of Bowdoin College in their first NESCAC matchup of the season. The Mules put up a dominant 4-0 showing in the opening game of the rivalry weekend.
The Mules got off to a fast start with a goal by
Meg Rittenhouse just 12 seconds into the game. As Colby continued to dominate
Megan Martodam netted her first goal of the season followed by another goal by
Maria Pierce just three minutes later. The Mules closed out the period on a high note with their fourth goal coming in the final minute from
Breanna Studley. The second period saw some more back and forth action with a goalie change from Bowdoin. It was a physical period with penalties on both teams, but neither team capitalized on their power play opportunities. The third period saw more even play between the two teams and goaltender
