Brunswick, Maine - The Colby College Women's Ice Hockey team traveled to Bowdoin College to face the Polar Bears in their second conference matchup of the weekend. Colby lost 3-1, dropping their overall record to 3-1-0 and 1-1-0 in NESCAC play.
The Mules dominated the first period, registering 23 shots and gaining possession off of face offs. Sophomore
Beth Sinson scored her second goal of the season assisted by
Sophia Kennedy and
Jo Tattersall at the end of the first period to send the Mules into the first intermission with a 1-0 lead. In the second period Colby once again led in shots but none found the back of the net. Bowdoin was able to capitalize on two of their seven shots including one power play, and the period ended with the Mules trailing 2-1. The third period again found Colby dominating in shots, but unable to score. Bowdoin added one more goal to make it a 3-1 game in favor of the Polar Bears.
The Mules will travel to Biddeford, Maine to take on the University of New England on Tuesday.
