Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Colby Falls Short to #7 Middlebury

Waterville, Maine — Colby started off the weekend with a tough NESCAC competition against nationally ranked Middlebury College. Colby was unable to come back from a 1-0 deficit, dropping to 4-3-2 for the season.

Starting off the first half, just 38 seconds into the game, Colby's Eduardo Casanova made the first shot attempt, missing just wide of the goal. Colby's Brendan McCarthy started his eighth game in the net and made a total of three saves on the day.

Middlebury aggressively approached the first half, tallying seven fouls in the first half and six in the second. There was a scoreless half up until the 44th minute of the game when Middlebury scored the first goal of the game. Middlebury's late goal in the first half secured a 1-0 lead going into the second half.

Despite Colby's numerous shot attempts, they weren't able to find an opening in the net. In both halves, Colby totaled 10 shots. Eduardo Casanova took two out of 10 of these shots. Neither Colby nor Middlebury scored in the second half, ending in a 1-0 score.

Tomorrow, Sunday, October 8th, will be Colby's Senior Day game. Colby will face another NESCAC matchup versus Hamilton College at 2:00 p.m.
