Box Score Middlebury, Vermont - The Colby Women's Tennis team finished their 2023-24 fall season over the weekend at the Middlebury Panther Challenge hosted by Middlebury College. Over the course of the three-day event, Colby faced opponents from Skidmore, Williams, and Middlebury.

Most notably, against Skidmore, the Mules took six out of the seven matches played. Senior captain
Sydney Landau and Sophomore
Maddie Omicioli both pulled out three set wins, with Landau winning 6-7, 7-6, 1-0(10) and Omicioli winning 5-7, 6-1, 1-0(6).

Against Middlebury,
Sam Riordan, sophomore
Ellie Gershaw, and sophomore
Amelie Gal all topped their opponents in singles. Riordan won a marathon match by a score of 3-6, 6-2, 7-5.

The doubles pairing of Riordan and first-year
Michaela Landry defeated teams from Middlebury and Williams, with scores of 8-1 and 8-3 respectively. Landau and sophomore
Isabella Suk also took down a pair from Williams by a score of 8-5.

After continuing her strong fall season and going 3-0 on the weekend in singles play, Gershaw commented, saying, "I feel like by the end of the tournament the whole team really came together and truly believed that we belong with the best NESCAC schools, leading to our win against Williams. Can't wait for the spring!"
