Clinton, NY- Colby College Women's Ice Hockey played a second straight game against NESCAC competitor Hamilton College. The Mules fell 3-0, falling to 8-2-0 overall and 2-2-0 in the NESCAC division.
Colby started off the first period offensively strong with 13 shots in comparison to Hamilton's 8 shots, however, after a power play began at 8:35 the Continentals got past the Mules' defense to score the first goal of the game. After a 2nd unanswered goal in the 1st minute of the 2nd period, Colby put on the defensive pressure with strong deflections from
Mandy Busky and the Mules' defensemen. Colby's also improved their offense with multiple shot attempts by
Meg Rittenhouse who led the team with 16 shots in the game. In the 3rd period, Hamilton scored their final goal with 2:22 left in the game on an empty net. The Mules have now only won 3 of their last 10 matchups against Hamilton College.
On Friday, January 13th, Colby College Women's Ice Hockey returns home to play a weekend series against the Middlebury College Panthers.
