Waterville, MAINE- Colby returned home to open NESCAC play against the visiting Bantams. The Mules looked to get off to a strong start but found themselves with a 35-29 halftime deficit. The Mules rallied to force overtime, but the Bantams proved to be the stronger team. The loss drops the Mules to 12-2 and takes the Bantams to 12-1.
The first half saw the Mules struggle to shoot the ball and struggle in the paint. They were outscored 24-8 and shot only 31 percent from the field. Colby found their first-half success in senior
Noah Tyson, who continues to be an essential leader for the team. Tyson led the way with 11 points and was helped with an additional six from
Lucas Green.
The second half saw the Mules succeed with their strong defense and play in the paint. Colby was able to force nine turnovers and convert that into 12 points. The Mules were led in the second half by junior
Lucas Green, who continues to provide Colby with scoring from the bench. Green contributed 17 points and was helped with an additional seven from
Max Poulton and six more from Tyson.
The Mules were led in the overtime period by six points from Poulton and then five points from
Will King who ended the night totaling a season high 16 assists.
The Mules return to the court tomorrow to face off against Wesleyan at 3 pm.
