Colby Defeats Williams 4-2

Waterville, Maine- The Mules battled against the Williams College Ephs earlier today in a NESCAC matchup.
 
Williams College jumped to an early 1-0 lead against Colby just four minutes into the first period. Junior John McElaney answered for the Mules as Tyler Crist and Jack Sullivan would get the assists. With just nine seconds to play, McElaney tallied his second goal of the game giving Colby a 2-1 lead heading into the second. During the second, the Mules knocked in a power play goal courtesy of Carter Breitenfeldt, his fifth goal in four games. The Ephs outshot Colby through two period 26-19 but struggled to get the puck by goaltender Andy Beran, who made many key saves in today's win. In the final period, Griffin Grise knocked in his first goal of the season, a short-handed goal assisted by Jake Klein. The Ephs fought back, making it a 4-2 game, but were unable to break through the Mules' defense. Beran finished the game with 36 saves. With his two assists tonight, Sullivan is now second in the NESCAC with eleven assists on the season, and Breitenfeldt leads the NESCAC with a +16 rating.
