Box Score Waterville, ME - The Colby College Women's Tennis Team downed the Hamilton Continentals by a score of 9-0 on Saturday, April 2nd. This is the first NESCAC match of the season for the Mules and it was an excellent start for Colby. Lead by a amazing tiebreak win by Carly Levitz and Lindsey Hernandez at the #1 position, the Mules went up 3-0 after the doubles. Caleigh McClain and Caroline Kittle had plenty of highlight reel worthy shots in their #3 position win, with McClain hitting an incredible lob winner on match point. The Sophomore duo of Sam Riordan and Sydney Landau were also efficient in their #2 doubles win.

In the singles, the Mules dominated on all courts. Kittle was the first to finish with a straight sets win at the #5 position, with Katharine Dougherty wrapping up her victory at the #6 position. Levitz was clinical at the #1 position with the loss of just one game. With Hernandez and Riordan wrapping up straight set victories at the #4 and #2 positions respectively, the last match on was Sydney Landau's at the #3 position. With her exceptional feel and forehand slice, Landau gave the Mules a perfect sweep of the singles with a dropshot winner on match point. 

"I really felt the love and support today," said Landau. "I am so happy for the team win today and go Mules!!" 

"We christened the new athletics center with our first NESCAC home match and we came out and dominated," said Dougherty. "Let's get it done tomorrow!!"
