Lewiston, MAINE - Colby baseball traveled Bates College today, April 15th at 5:00 PM. In their last game, The Mules were defeated by the University of Southern Maine in only five innings. Thus, Colby was both focused and aggravated against one of their conference rivals, the Bobcats. The game ended in a 15-4 victory, with the team scoring a run in every inning but two, six and nine.
Julian Erro got the win, pitching a spectacular five innings. He allowed three earned runs on seven hits.
Ryan Grecco pitched three shutout innings, allowing only four hits. And, finally
Howell Eglin pitched an inning, allowing one run on one hit.
Cabot Maher led the team in hits with three, scoring three runs and batting in another.
Clint Flippo, Patrick McConnel, and Cole Furlong all had two hits and contributed greatly on offense. McConnel and Flippo each had two RBIs and McConnel had three runs of his own.
The Mules take on the Bobcats again tomorrow, with first pitch at 11:00 AM in the first game and 1:30 PM in the second. They will look to win both games, and complete a three game sweep.
