Waterville, Maine - The Mules displayed their endurance by playing another weekend with two games. This time, they challenged visiting Williams College in a makeup match from earlier in the season due to a late winter snow storm. The Mules came out strong against an opponent who has only won against Bates and Connecticut in the conference, beating them out 15-7, making Williams the ninth team this season to be held to less than 10 goals.
The Mules had 24 shots on goal compared to the Ephs 14, showing a dominance on Colby attack to release shots and make them count seeing as they scored nearly two thirds of their shots on goal. Annie Eddy had four goals, Ally Franz had a hat trick, and Gianna Bruno had two goals with six assists.
On defense, Colby had six caused turnovers, ten ground balls and Emily Podgorni had a 50% save rate. The team was successful on all 15 clears, showing strength in converting defense to attack seamlessly. The Mules have a quick turnaround and return to play against Bowdoin on Wednesday at home. The Mules travel to Middlebury next weekend as they approach the end of the regular season and prepare for a run deep into playoffs.
