Box Score Redlands, CA - The Colby College Women's Tennis Team fell against The University of Redlands by a score of 8-1 on Wednesday, March 23rd. The Mules battled hard in the doubles, with
Caleigh McClain and
Sydney Landau taking their #2 doubles match into a deciding tiebreak, ultimately falling 8-7(5). Ultimately, it would take 5 singles match wins for the Mules to overtake Redlands, as the Bulldogs pulled ahead after doubles with an overall team score of 3-0.
In the singles, the Bulldogs dominated at every position with the exception of
Carly Levitz at the #1 position and
Katharine Dougherty at the #6 position. Levitz utilized smart strategy with her deep forehand to level the match at one set a piece, but in the end fell in a 10 point tiebreaker. Dougherty also found herself in a 10 point tiebreaker after an up and down first two sets. Showcasing her signature consistency, Dougherty pulled out a win for the Mules in a marathon match.
