Clermont, Florida- Colby Softball played against the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and Grinnell College this afternoon in Florida. The Mules had a strong offensive showing yesterday and were looking to continue that into their games today. UW-Oshkosh would get an early jump against the Mules, taking the game 5-1. Grinnell College gave the Mules a tough battle, with the Mules falling to a score of 6-5.

Against UW-Oshkosh, the Mules put up a fight, despite being down four runs early in the game.
Abby Orso pitched 6.0 innings in relief and would strikeout six batters. The Mules got onto the scoreboard in the seventh inning, with
Logan Luebbe hitting an RBI single to drive in
Brenna Forbes. Despite falling to a score of 5-1, the Mules had nine hits in the game, With
Brenna Forbes and
Lauren Ilano having two hits each.

In game two, the Mules got out to an early 3-0 lead through the first two innings, Luebbe would tally her eleventh RBI of the season in the first inning.
Sam Ahlholm pitched for the Mules, striking out five Grinnell batters through 5.0 innings of work. Colby trailed to a score of 4-3, but
Colleen McAvoy brought home
Brenna Forbes on an RBI single to tie the game in the fifth inning. Grinnell jumped out to take a 6-4 lead over the Mules in the sixth inning, setting the Mules up to make a comeback late in the game. In the seventh inning in the last chance for the Mules,
Hannah Masterson would hit an RBI single to bring the Mules within one run with two outs, but the Mules barely fell short. Despite the score, the Mules had a very strong showing against Grinnell College, both offensively and defensively.

The Mules will play on Thursday, March 24, in Clermont, Florida against the Massachusetts Institute of Technology at 9:30 AM and Benedictine University at 12:00 PM.
