19-5 Win for the Mules at Plymouth State

Plymouth, N.H. - The Women's Lacrosse team made the short trip to Plymouth State University to play the Panthers.  The Mules left 2-1 on the season and scoring 19 goals while only allowing five against.

podgorniColby started off strong in the first half with 13 goals from six different goal scorers.  Colby keeper Emily Podgorni (pictured left) was named the NESCAC defensive player of the week and held down the defense with All-American defender Sarah Stark.  In the first half alone, Colby had five saves, nine successful clears, and 12 ground balls.

In the second half, Colby substituted their keeper for sophomore Sarah Hearns.  Hearns had 3 saves for the Mules and the attack continued to pull away with more goals with two more goal scorers, showing depth on the team and that, given the opportunity, the Mules will score.  The Mules were successful on four out of their five clears and scooped up nine more ground balls.  The Mules had a total of 40 shots, more than twice the Panthers and showed a dominant out-of-conference showing.

The Mules return to play Tuesday March 15th at the University of New England and will continue to play through spring break.
