Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey |

Women's Hockey with Seventh Shutout of the Season

Clinton, NY - In an evenly matched game against the Continentals, the Mules come away with a 1-0 win to make 13-3 on the season and ranked number 2 in the conference.

cafieroColby started off the game with seven shots on goal in the first period, equal to that of Hamilton.  Nina Prunster started off strong, making all seven saves for the Mules.  It wasn't until the second period that senior captain Lexi Cafiero (pictured left) scored with an assist from Jillian Mazzocca and Meg Rittenhouse.  In the second period, the Mules had 14 shots on goal to Hamilton's seven.  Cafiero's goal was scored off a power play and was enough of a shift in the momentum for Colby to remain on top the rest of the game.  Through the third period, Hamilton was still unable to score despite being able to let loose 11 shots on goal against Prunster.  Prunster finished the day with 25 saves and the team had 27 shots on goal.  A strong finish on the weekend leaves the Mules poised for a strong finish to the season and a run deep into the playoffs.

The Mules return to Waterville to play Connecticut College on February 11th and 12th at 7:00pm and 3:00pm, respectively.  The College is now allowing spectators at indoor events, although we ask that you remain masked while on campus.
