Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey |

Prunster with 19 Saves and a 3-0 Win in the Third

Waterville, Maine - The Mules welcomed Connecticut College Camels to the Jack Kelley rink for the second to last weekend of the regular season.  The Mules controlled much of the game but the Mules let loose in the third period winning 3-0.

The first period proved to be very much in Colby's favor.  The Mules were able to let rip 12 shots on goal to the Camels mere three.  Colby had two power play opportunities but were unable to score.

During the second period, play was much more evenly matched as the Camels got their skates under them.  Nina Prunster put up nine saves for the Mules.  Colby was able to release six shots on goal and had an additional power play attempt.  Yet still, neither team was able to score.  Going into the second intermission, the Mules had about 15 seconds left on a power play attempt and look to bring energy finesse to score in the first minutes of the final period.  At the end of the second period, Anna Staton is a team leader with four shots on goal, McKinley Karpa and Lexi Cafiero were close behind with three and two shots, respectively.

The Mules clicked in the third period and had 14 shots on goal to Connecticut's seven.  8:15 into the period, Jillian Mazzocca scores with an assist from Karpa and Meg RittenhouseLily Wisniewski scored her first collegiate goal at 14:43 with an assist from Stephanie Lane.  The Mules were settling into their play as the number 2 team in the NESCAC.  The final goal was scored by Abby Wick with an assist from Madi Aumann on an empty net.  Prunster had 19 saves for on the day and the Mules are set up for success when they play tomorrow at 3:00pm.
