Lyme, N.H. - The Colby Alpine Ski Team was back in action with the Dartmouth carnival. With a doubleheader slalom race on the menu, the Mules started the first day strong.
Conditions were soft for the first run and the Mules battled difficult ruts. However, the sun was out in full force a welcome break from the cold of the first two carnivals. For the second run conditions improved significantly and the snow became more consistent and firm allowing the Mules to make some strong second run improvements.
Chauncey Morgan once again lead the Mules with an 11th place finish, the second-fastest of Division 3, and his third Top-15. Also scoring for the Mules was Paul Ferri who skied to 24th and Owen Croce in 35th.Â
Annaliese Fleck was the top woman in 20th followed closely by Charlotte Maurer in 24th and Ella Spear who moved up 9 spots from her first run to finish in 26th.
The men are in 5th place and the women in 6th for a combined team result (including Nordic) of 5th. They rank just behind Middlebury and are followed closely by Williams and Harvard.Â
They will get another chance tomorrow with another slalom at the Dartmouth Skiway. Follow along here.
