Waterville, Maine - The Colby Women's Basketball team fell to Bowdoin Saturday by a score of 48-60.  The Mules drop to 3-3 while the Polar Bears improve to 4-1. 

Bowdoin's defense played strong right out of the gate, limiting Colby to 17 first-half points.  Colby's defense also played well, and the two rivals went into the break 25-17 in favor of the visitors.  

The Mules kept pace in the second half, thanks in large part to clutch shooting from the free throw line.  Bowdoin was able to keep pace at the line, with guard Sydney Jones hitting all 10 of her free throws in the final quarter.  Caroline Smith collected her fifth double-digit scoring effort of the season, netting 20 points.  Gabrielle Hemenes led the Mules with 11 rebounds and collected two of Colby's three blocks on the afternoon.  

The Mules are back in action Tuesday for another non-conference match in Lewiston.
