Waterville, MAINE- Colby faced off today against Brandeis University in a battle of undefeated teams. The Mules showed they were superior and quickly took over the game. The win takes Colby to 8-0 and hands the Judges their first loss of the season.
The Mules got off to a hot start and led 19-5 within five minutes. Colby continued to shoot the ball well as they have all season and were 60 percent on field goals. The Mules were led in the first half with six points from
Will King,
Max Poulton, and
Alec McGovern. The Mules dominated inside and out, with 18 points in the paint and 55 percent from outside the arc.
The second half saw Colby struggle to shoot the ball, allowing Brandeis to cut down on their 16-point half-time deficit. However, the Mules could do enough to hold on as they won the battle in the paint again. Colby's scoring in the second half was led by 10 points from
Lucas Green and six points from King and
Noah Tyson. The Mules hit enough shots to hold on for the 66-52 win.
The Mules will return to the court tomorrow as they take on Emory University at noon.
