Waterville, Maine- Men's Ice Hockey played in their first home game of the season in a non-conference matchup against UMass Boston in the first day of the Colby/Bowdoin Classic.

The Mules came out strong against the Beacons, killing two penalties early on into the first period. Junior
Michael McEachern tallied his second goal of the season just over seven minutes into the game,
Griffin Grise and freshman
James Tepper getting assists. UMass Boston, who was limited to just three shots in the first, would come back to have 17 shots on goal in the second. Despite no scoring this period, Junior goaltender
Andy Beran kept Colby up 1-0 with many key saves against the Beacons. The Mules took advantage in the final six minutes of the game, finally putting another puck in the net with a goal from sophomore
Max O'Brien right off a faceoff that was won by
Nick Stapleton. Almost two minutes later,
Jack Sullivan scored to give Colby a 3-0 and a power play goal. Senior
Carter Breitenfeldt and sophomore
Jake MacDonald would tally assists. Beran made 28 saves on the day, earning his first shutout of the season.

Blaise MacDonald earns his 100th career win as the Jack Kelley Head Coach for Colby Men's Hockey.

The Mules are back in action tomorrow in Brunswick, Maine at 1 PM against Johnson & Wales.
