Box Score Middlebury, Vt.- The Colby College Men's Soccer team faced off against the Middlebury Panthers in a NESCAC match on Saturday. Colby fell to the Panthers 3-1 bringing Colby down to 0-2-4 in NESCAC games and to 3-2-6 for the season.
The first half remained scoreless with Hamilton leading offensively, but goalkeeper Brendan McCarthy was successful with five saves in the first half alone. In the first fifteen minutes of the second half, the Panthers made all three of their total goals. A goal by Mario Simoes in the 82nd minute of the second half, off an assist by Sam Wilson put Colby on the board. This goal by Simoes ties him with Ethan Franco at four goals apiece for the most goals on the team this season thus far.
Tomorrow Colby heads to Clinton, N.Y. for a quick turnaround to face the Hamilton Continentals in another NESCAC matchup.
