Williamstown, MA - Colby Women's Basketball traveled to Williams College this weekend to face off against the Ephs in their fourth game of the NESCAC season. The Mules fell to the Ephs, with a final score of 45-73.
The game got started when Keagan Dunbar '22 made a successful jumper in the second minute of the game, putting the first points on the board. The Ephs retaliated, rallying 16 points in the quarter and holding the Mules to only one more point scored, entering the second quarter with a score of 3-16. The Mules fought back immediately in the second quarter with a three pointer by Carly Christofori '22 in the thirteenth second. The Ephs quickly responded with their own three-pointer, to which Christofori returned another three-point shot. Still, the Ephs were able to continue their momentum to expand their lead to 24 and enter the second half with a score of 14-38.
The Mules got off to a strong start in the second half thanks to a jumper by Carter McGloon '24 in the 23rd second. For the next two minutes, the two teams went back-and-forth putting points on the board. Once again, though, the Ephs were able to rally back-to-back points in the middle of the quarter, maintaining a lead of 28 in the fifth minute. The Mules responded late, propelled by two free throws by Adaobi Nebuwa '24. From here, the Mules were able to get an additional ten points on the board thanks to more successful free throws and two three pointers in the final minute by McGloon and Dunbar.
