Waterville, MAINE - On January 15th, 2022 visiting teams Hobart and William Smith Colleges traveled down to Waterville to face the Colby Mules. Overall, the women's team fell short to William Smith College with a score of 3-6.
The first highlight of the day includes #1 seat Andrea lee who pulled out the first win of the day. Lee won her first game, but then fell short in her second. With the score in games being 1-1, Lee kept her focus and strategically won the next two games (11-5, 8-11, 11-4, 11-5). The next highlight of the day, was #7 seat
MacKenzie O'Shea, who had a tight match, but then secured a the second win of the day for Mules (11-8, 5-11, 11-9, 7-11, 11-8).
Another close match includes #8 seat
Stephanie Keane who started off with a slow start and lost her first game. Keane came back winning the next 2 games and just needed one more to secure the next win for the Colby Mules. Her opponent won the fourth game, leaving the match sore being 2-2. After a good pep talk from fellow teammates, Keane secured the next win for the women (9-11, 11-9, 11-1, 10-12, 12-10).
Next up the Colby Mules will be traveling down to Brunswick, Maine to face off fellow NESCAC competitior Bowdoin College on January 19th at 6:00 pm. Look for updates on the Colby Squash Instagram.
