Bangor, MAINE - The Colby College Women's Soccer team traveled to Bangor for their season opener against Husson University, coming home with a 3-0 victory. Husson falls to 1-2 on the season with Colby moving up to 1-0.
The Mules started the first half strong with senior
Alessandra Marciano scoring the first goal of the season in the 16th minute of play. Following the first goal
Mia Cromwell and
Mannon Frykholm put shots on net that were blocked by Husson's keeper Hannah Kenney. Soon after being subbed in,
Kerrie Verbeek scored her first goal of the season assisted by
Corrigan Rayhill in the 31st minute. A shot from
Lilly Fagan on goal soon followed, but it was saved again by Kenney.
Chloe Schiff scored the final goal of the game in the 38th minute of play to close up the first half at 3-0.
Aggressive play followed in the second half, and the Mules maintained their 3-0 lead to wrap up the game with their first victory!
The Mules next play Saturday at Connecticut College. Game time is slated for 11:30am.
