Waterville, Maine - The Colby Women's Soccer Team faced the Tufts Jumbos Saturday at home in their third NESCAC game of the season. The Mules fell to the Jumbos with a final score of 6-0.
Â
Tufts opened the first period aggressively, with their first shot on goal being just over a minute into the game. Goalie
Emily McMaster '25 managed to save the first attempt, as well as another shot ten minutes later. However, the Jumbos held incredible possession and were intent on pressing the goal with every opportunity. The Mules played hard and aggressive to the ball, but the Jumbos were able to net three first half goals. Colby tried to flip the field and made runs of their own, responding with shots by
Ellie Hankin '23 and
Chloe Schiff '23, but neither were able to get past Tufts goalie Hayley Bernstein.
Â
The second half once again saw a strong offense from the Jumbos. McMaster had yet another strong performance at the goal, holding off six shot attempts. She was additionally backed up by Hankin, who pulled a defensive save against a shot early in the period. Yet, the Jumbos emerged from the game with another three goals scored, raising the tally on the day to six.
Â
The Mules are next set to face the University of Maine at Fort Kent at home tomorrow, September 26, at 2:00 PM EST.
