Portland, MAINE - The Colby Volleyball team traveled to the University of Southern Maine for a double header, first against the Huskies of USM followed by a match with Eastern Connecticut State University.
In the first match, Colby duplicated Friday night's sets against Bates, winning the first, dropping the second, before roaring back to take the match in four.
Jenny Slaveck led the team in kills with 17 across the four sets.
Morgan Selby has been performing well as the team's setter, and
Natalie Bumpus was a force at the net with nine blocks.
The second match of the day saw the Warriors of Eastern Connecticut State continuing their torrid start to their season. The 9-1 Warriors had only dropped two sets over teh last four matches, with their only loss coming in a 5-set match a few weeks ago in a tri-match against Simmons. Eastern Conn. won in three sets 25-19, 25-21, 25-17, dropping the Mules' record to 6-3. Bumpus had a hit percentage of .500 with five kills and two blocks.
Colby heads on the road to start October, visiting Wesleyan University Friday and popping over to face the Camels of Conn. College Saturday. Game times are 8:00pm and 2:00pm respectively.
