Middletown, Conn. – The Colby Volleyball team took on its fourth NESCAC opponent of the season Friday night when they visited the Cardinals of Wesleyan. Colby entered he match with an overall record of 6-3, while the hosts boasted a 7-1 record. The favored Cardinals won in straight sets (25-16, 25-14, 25-12), improving their record to 8-1.
Jenny Slaveck led the Mules in kills, accumulating nine throughout the match.
Julia Hutchings, who led the Mules in service aces last match (7), recorded a pair of aces against Wesleyan and also led the backcourt with 11 digs, followed closely by Slaveck (9). Colby currently sits in fifth in the NESCAC in blocks with 1.71 B/S, but was only able to muster a single block against the Cardinals (

Colby is back in action on Saturday, October 2 in New London Conn. when they visit the Connecticut College Camels. Start time is set for 2:00pm.
